What Makes People Tick?
A Little Chat About Vibes, Wiring, and the Ones Who Just Don’t Get It…
Have you ever looked at someone, maybe someone in your own family, and wondered, what on earth makes them tick? I’ve been thinking about it lately.
Why do some people move through the world with a sense of kindness, curiosity, and a bit of spark in their soul… while others seem hellbent on greed, control, or plain old disconnection? Why are some of us drawn to truth and connection, while others are content to live shallow, miserable little lives built on what they can take from others?
Is it upbringing? Is it trauma? Is it just plain old bad wiring? Or is it something deeper, like the vibration a soul carries?
It’s All Energy, Isn’t It?
If you believe (like I do) that everything is energy, then people are no different. Every thought, emotion, and action carries a frequency. Some souls arrive here vibrating high, they feel deeply, love easily, and instinctively want to make the world a bit lighter. Others? Well, let’s just say they’ve settled in at a much lower frequency. Fear, ego, control, manipulation, all the fun stuff.
And the thing is, you can have two people raised in the same house, eating the same dinners, with the same opportunities… and one grows up kind and thoughtful, while the other turns cold and cruel. Same soil, different seeds.
So is it wiring? Maybe. Is it trauma? Sure. Is it their soul’s chosen vibration in this lifetime? I think so.
Can People Change Their Frequency?
I believe we can. I think that’s one of the reasons we’re here. Every time we choose truth over comfort, compassion over judgment, or courage over fear, we raise our vibration a little. Every time we heal a wound, speak up for ourselves, or walk away from people who drain the life out of us, we inch a bit closer to who we were meant to be.
Here’s the hard truth: not everyone wants to shift. Some people like the frequency they’re on. Even if it’s bitter, petty, and miserable… It’s what they know. They’re comfortable in it. They’ve built an identity around it. And they’ll fight to stay there because rising would mean doing the work, and not everyone’s brave enough for that.
You Can’t Drag People Up the Ladder
Not every soul is here to wake up in this lifetime. Some people came here to learn the hard way, or maybe to learn nothing at all. And you know what? That’s not your burden to carry.
Your job is to notice the ones who lift you and the ones who leave you heavy. Pay attention to who inspires you to be a better, braver, freer version of yourself, and who keeps you small, afraid, and doubting your gut.
Choose accordingly.
