Divine Timing (and a Bit of Procrastination)…

Daily writing prompt
What have you been putting off doing? Why?

What have I been putting off doing?

Now WP… just about everything! The list is long, dusty, and occasionally scary, but I’ve made peace with it. I’ve learned to listen to where my soul leads me, and my soul doesn’t seem too interested in errands, deadlines, or sensible plans.

My soul is more the “cup of tea first, inspiration later” type. When I try to push, my soul digs her heels in like a stubborn mule, whispering, “Not yet. Trust the timing.” And honestly? I do. Sometimes she leads me down quiet paths, sometimes to laughter in the kitchen with a dog who thinks he’s in charge (I see you, Heff).

Of course, the world thinks I’m procrastinating. My emails sit unanswered, my laundry grows suspiciously wild, and the plants get extra sunbaths because… soul-led priorities. But here’s the thing: when I follow this rhythm, life feels fuller, wilder, and more alive. Tasks get done in their own time, often with far more joy than if I’d forced them.

Granny Frass would nod knowingly here, probably muttering, “Mae, let the kettle boil. The universe has it covered.” And Darcifer would snort in agreement, tail flicking, because she knows some of life’s most important lessons come wrapped in patience, chaos, and the occasional nap.

So yes, I put things off. But I’ve realized that sometimes putting off is simply making space for the right energy, the right moment, and the right laughter. My soul, messy, mischievous, and infinitely wise, knows what she’s doing. And honestly? I trust my soul.

Mae🧡

    1. Thanks! 😊 Sometimes the best wisdom really is that simple: boil the kettle, take a breath, and trust the rest will sort itself out.🧡

  3. Yes!! See? Mae, … I agree with every word, … life is too short for timetables, …dusting every day, washing every day, … it can wait, mañana, … I love that word, it says everything, pronunciation, meaning, .. mañana, mañana, … trust your soul, … follow your own rhythm and sing your own song, …🎶💙🎶

    1. Ah, I love that Penn, mañana, mañana! Exactly! The world won’t end if the dishes wait, but our spirit wilts if we don’t listen to its rhythm. Here’s to slow mornings, soul time, and singing our own song.🧡

    1. Exactly! 🧡 It’s not always procrastination, sometimes it’s divine timing. Things line up better when we wait for the right energy to move.
