Where the Ruins Still Whisper…

Daily Writing Prompt: If you won two free plane tickets, where would you go?

Right now? Nowhere, truth be told. Life feels too heavy to float above it just yet. My hands are full with the business of holding things together, or maybe just letting them fall, gently, where they need to. But if Heff crossed over, slipped quietly beyond the veil, maybe that would shift something. Maybe then I’d pack light and go looking for something I didn’t know I lost.

I think I’d head toward the ruins. Mexico, maybe. But not the polished, filtered version of it you see on Instagram. Not Tulum as it is now, that’s not what it was ten years ago. Too much noise, too many influencers. I’d go somewhere off the beaten path, where the jungle still breathes, where the stone still remembers, and the ancient ones still hum beneath the moss.

I don’t need luxury or a view from a rooftop pool. I need earth and silence. I need wind through broken temples and time that stretches, slow and sacred. I want to sit with what’s old and forgotten and feel it say, “You’re not alone.”

Who knows where that is exactly. But if the veil thins, maybe the path will appear.

  3. What a beautiful way of putting things. You seem to be a down to earth person grounded and a seeker of natural and primordial beauty.

Your post is a real twist to the prompt.

Nothing showy but where the soul whispers with the breeze.

    1. Thank you. I am just being me.. I love how you phrased that: “where the soul whispers with the breeze.” That’s exactly the space I hope to write from… grounded, a bit wild, and tuned into something deeper. I’m so glad that came through for you. Your comment is a gift in itself.🧡
