Daily Writing Prompt: What’s your favorite game (card, board, video, etc.)? Why?
Who Needs Board Games When You’ve Got Family Drama?
Honestly, I’ve never really had a favorite game. I didn’t grow up with board game nights or a console in the corner, and as the years went on, I guess life itself became the only game I had time to learn.
Real life throws enough at you, puzzles that don’t come with all the pieces, people who change the rules halfway through, and decisions that feel like a high-stakes round of chance. Strategy? Survival? A bit of both.
I never really mastered the art of winning, but I’ve learned to spot the bluffs. I know when to walk away, when to call someone’s hand, and when to fold with dignity. That counts for something.
So no, I don’t have a favorite card game or a go-to video game. But if endurance, intuition, and occasionally winging it count… then maybe I’ve been playing the biggest game of all.
And I’m still here. So maybe I’m doing all right.
