Episode 87 – Bully Watch…

Bully Watch… When They Don’t Talk to You… But Talk About You

Ever notice how some people don’t actually speak to you, but have plenty to say about you?

There’s a certain breed of drama farmer who thrives on indirect communication. They won’t call, won’t text, won’t answer your emails, but suddenly your neighbor knows everything you’re supposedly doing wrong. Funny how that works.

They’re not having a conversation with you, they’re building a case against you. Quietly. Sneakily. Strategically.

It’s called triangulation:

🔺 One person (you) is cut out.
🔺 Another person (the neighbor, cousin, postman, or local sheepdog) is dragged in.
🔺 And the puppet master pulls the strings, planting seeds of misinformation and painting themselves as the victim, the peacemaker, or the poor soul “just trying to get along.”

Classic lines include:

“I’m having a hard time with them, but I’m willing to meet halfway…”

“They’re making things difficult…”

“I haven’t heard from them since Christmas…”

It’s all about controlling the narrative without being accountable.

And let’s be clear, this isn’t just gossip. This is emotional manipulation in work boots, trying to twist the truth while keeping their own hands clean.

They play victim, hero, and storyteller all in one, while you’re just trying to live your damn life and maybe recover from surgery without a prehistoric piece of farm machinery blocking your shed. (Oops… did that slip out?)

So if you hear your name floating around in conversations you never agreed to have, just know:
It’s not a reflection of who you are. It’s a reflection of how desperate someone is to rewrite the story in their favor.

Silence doesn’t mean peace. And distance doesn’t mean disengagement.
Sometimes, it just means you’re no longer playing the game, and that drives them wild.

Lesson of the Day:

When They Can’t Control the Story, They Try to Control the Audience.

Not everyone speaks their truth; some perform it for others. When a person refuses to speak directly to you but freely talks about you, they’re not resolving anything; they’re recruiting sympathy, spinning narratives, and avoiding accountability.

That’s not conflict resolution.
That’s cowardice dressed up as conversation.

Your lesson?
You don’t need to correct every version of the story they tell.
You don’t need to chase their whispers or justify your silence.
Your peace is not up for public debate.

Let them perform.
Let them twist.
Just keep living your truth in full colour, without needing an audience.

As someone who was bullied and watched my boys go through it too this hit deep.

Silence isn’t weakness. And the whispers? They say more about them than us. Keep standing tall. 👊💔🛡️

    1. Thank you for this, Willie. I’m so sorry you and your boys went through it too, it leaves marks people don’t always see. You’re so right, though… silence isn’t weakness. It’s restraint, it’s dignity, and sometimes it’s the calm before a storm. And those whispers? Pure projection. Here’s to standing tall, even when our legs shake.

Thank you, Mae. That means a lot. You’re right, the scars aren’t always visible, but God sees them all.

He heals what others can’t. In Him, even shaky legs can stand firm. 🙏
