Ah, life. Such a tedious little performance, isn’t it?
Humans darting about, chasing approval like moths to a flame, when what they ought to be doing is finding a sun patch, curling up in it and daring the world to disturb them. I watched you lot for years – endlessly fussing over things you couldn’t control and people who didn’t deserve the whisker twitch of your attention.
Let me make it simple for you, darling. Life isn’t about fitting in, it’s about knowing you’re the best thing in the room whether anyone claps or not. It’s about shedding your old skin – be it bad habits, bad company or the lingering nonsense someone dumped on your doorstep – and slinking off without a backward glance. Do snakes feel relief when they shed? Probably. But a proper cat never clings to anything old or ill-fitting. We let it drop like last season’s collar.
And here’s the trick most of you miss: The sun moves, the seasons turn, the food dish might arrive late but none of it changes who you are. A creature of elegance. A survivor. A spirit too proud to beg and too clever to stay where you’re not adored.
So go on, dear one. Leave the fools to chase their tails. You – stretch out, blink slowly at the universe and claim your patch. You belong wherever you decide to land. Always did.
