I’ve been thinking a lot lately about life. About why we’re here on this strange, beautiful, sometimes brutal earth plane. About what it all means and whether there really is some deeper order beneath the chaos.
Funny thing is, I used to have answers for those questions. Or at least, I thought I did. Years ago, I taught numerology. Back then, I was the one people came to when they were searching for meaning, patterns or guidance. I read their charts, told them about their Life Path Numbers, Soul Urge, Expression Numbers… all those little pieces of their personal blueprint.
And then, as life does, it happened.
I got caught up in the world, in survival, in grief, in joy, in mistakes and lessons I didn’t see coming. The numbers got tucked away in an old folder, along with parts of myself I wasn’t ready to deal with.
But lately, maybe it’s the energy in the air, maybe it’s just time – I’ve felt called to pull those old charts out again. Not for anyone else this time. For me.
A Reminder from the Numbers
If you’ve never dabbled in numerology, here’s the simplest way I can explain it: it’s the ancient study of the numbers connected to your name and birth date. And those numbers, believe it or not, tell a story. About your tendencies, your challenges, your karma and your soul’s purpose.
I revisited my own chart last night and it felt like a conversation with an old friend I’d forgotten how much I loved.
My Life Path Number is a 22/4 – known as the Master Builder. It’s the number of big dreams with the responsibility to ground them into reality. It carries the visionary spark of the Master Numbers, but demands that you learn patience, discipline and resilience to make those dreams tangible.
Reading that again, I had to laugh a little. Because my life has been a tug-of-war between those exact things. The wild dreams, the rebellious spirit and the lessons that forced me to slow down, build solid foundations and realize that sometimes legacy matters more than speed.
And then there’s my Soul Urge Number, a 5 – the adventurer, the free spirit who craves experience, change and unconventional paths. It explained so much. Why I’ve always resisted rules. Why I don’t like staying in one place too long. Why my life has been a series of leaps of faith and messy, beautiful detours.
I realized those numbers weren’t chains around my ankles, they were a map of who I came here to be.
Are We Destined or Do We Choose?
People have often asked, ‘If it’s all in the numbers, do we even have free will?’
And my answer is: absolutely.
Numerology doesn’t tell you what to do. It shows you the terrain, the mountains you’ll climb, the rivers you’ll cross, the shortcuts you might take. But you still get to choose which path you’ll walk and how you’ll respond when you hit a storm.
It’s a tool, not a cage.
Maybe It’s Time You Looked, Too
If you’ve been asking yourself the big questions lately – Why am I here? What’s the point of all this? – maybe it’s time to revisit the old tools or discover new ones.
Look at your numbers. Pay attention to the patterns in your life. Notice the repeating numbers around you. Life has a funny way of speaking to us through signs we dismiss.
I don’t have all the answers. I probably never will.
But I’ve remembered something important:
The map was always there. I just needed to pick it up again.
And maybe you do, too.
A Final Thought
Maybe we’re not here to have all the answers. Maybe we’re here to remember who we are, little by little, piece by piece. To stumble, to rise, to create and to break old patterns. To leave something behind that matters, not to the whole world, but to the people whose paths cross ours.
The numbers, the signs, the quiet whispers from the universe… they aren’t there to control us. They’re there to remind us that life is both mystery and meaning. And when you dare to look closely, you’ll see that the map was always in your hands.
Here’s to remembering.
And building something beautiful while we’re here.
